This Christmas, The Village Screen are transforming Manchester’s old Victorian water palace into an enchanted Christmas wonderland with a series of festive favourites!
On Sunday 8th December The Village Screen are spreading oodles of Christmas cheer at Victoria Baths with a screening of festive romantic comedy, Love Actually.
Ahead of the film, The Village Screen will be joined by some fantastic local street food traders, as well as a pop-up bar serving themed cocktails, wine, fizz, Thornbridge beers, hot drinks and mulled wine. The Village Screen resident DJ will also be on hand to provide your favourite tunes!
Audience members can choose to sit on either candy-striped deckchairs inside the Gala Pool to watch the film or on wooden seating overlooking the Gala Pool on the Balcony level.Buy Tickets
How do I book tickets? Tickets can be bought via our "Buy Tickets" link. Tickets will go on sale on Monday 24th October 10am.
Will I receive a physical ticket(s)? If you book via our "Buy Tickets" link you will receive an online booking confirmation email from our ticket booking agent, See Tickets.
Will there be parking? A small amount of free parking will be available at Victoria Baths. We recommend using local transport and taxis where possible.
Will I be allocated seating? There will be enough seating for everyone but seating will not be pre-allocated. Those buying pool tickets will be seated on deckchairs in and around the pool. Those buying balcony tickets will be seated on wooden seating on the balcony level, above the pool. Please note that access into the pool and the balcony level is via stairs. We will reserve some space around the side of the pool for wheelchair users. If you are a wheelchair user please let us know in advance by emailing us at email@example.com.
How do I reserve seats? You may wish to bring something with you to reserve your seats before the screening starts, like blankets. We cannot be held responsible for any personal belongings going missing during the event.
Can I swim at Victoria Baths? The pools at Victoria Baths are not filled with water so no need to bring swimming costumes!
Will you be serving food and drink? Street food vendors will be serving food inside Victoria Baths before each screening. There will also be a fully stocked bar serving alcoholic and soft drinks all night. Guests are unable to bring their own food and drink into the event. We will be operating Challenge 25 so please remember to bring photographic identification to buy alcohol if you look or are under 25.
Can I bring my own reusable bottle? Yes, please do. Please just ensure it is empty when you arrive at the event. There is free tap water available.
Can I pay by card? Food traders are cash only but we can take card payments at the bar.
When will the film start? Doors to the event will open at 18:30. Guests will be seated for the film at 20:30. Any guests arriving after 20:30 may not be permitted into the event so please join us early to avoid disappointment.
Is the event indoors? Yes, the event is inside Victoria Baths.
Is there a minimum age for this event? This film is classified as 15. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
What if I book a student or senior ticket? If you are a student, you will need to show valid photographic student identification on arrival. If you are a senior, you will need to show valid photographic ID on arrival (passport, driving licence, older person's bus pass).
What should I wear? As Victoria Baths is unheated, you may wish to wear warmer clothes.
What should I bring? Bring your booking confirmation email with you, either on a phone or printed. If you have booked a student or senior ticket, you should also bring suitable identification with you. Please also dress appropriately (see "what should I wear?" above).
Can I smoke at the venue? No, smoking is prohibited during the event. You will need to leave the venue in order to smoke.
What if I am a wheelchair user? The event is accessible for wheelchair users. Wheelchair users will be seated around the side of the pool. Please let us know your access needs in advance of the event (by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org) so we can make the event as great as possible for you.
I have a carer, can my carer attend the event with me? Yes, please email us at email@example.com and we will arrange for your carer to have a free seat at the event. You will need to show valid identification (Blue Badge, DID, or equivalent) in order to receive your free carers ticket.
Can I bring a dog/pet to the event? We love dogs but unfortunately we are unable to allow pets into the event.
Will you refund my ticket purchase? We do not offer refunds on ticket purchases. We are happy for you to transfer your ticket to someone else at face value.
Will there be toilet facilities? Yes, there will be toilet facilities at the event.
What is the cinema sound like at Victoria Baths? We work with some of the UK's best sound and visual technicians to create fantastic cinematic experiences in quirky locations. However, Victoria Baths is a gigantic, tiled swimming pool and therefore there can sometimes be sound reverberation during our screenings.
Can I talk during the screening? We politely ask attendees not to talk during the screening and not to disturb other guests. We reserve the right to remove guests from the screening room who continually disturb others.
